Survey for Parents

16 parents answered the questions. According to the survey results, 75% of parents think that learning English is neccessary. Also, most of them think English is a neccessary and useful lesson. About importance of English for a better life and job, nearly half of them agree while the rest partially agree. While 6 parents see English as just a lesson, 10 parents think it is not. However, 14 of them want their children to learn English even if it was not taught. 13 of the parents think that their children should learn English as it is a global language and learning English is learning about a new culture. However, ratings range differently for learning another language. 3 parents agree and 7 parents partially agree while 1 parent partially disagree and 5 parents disagree. For the way of learning English, most of the parents think positive attitude and success in language learning are directly proportional, and English is not hard but fun. Half of them think their children have difficulty in speaking English because they focus on learning grammar. Finally 15 parents think their children should pratice English at home and/or with the other English learners.

In short, when I see the results, I can say that my students' parents mostly think that English is not just a lesson but their children should learn it for a better job and life. They are open to the idea of learning the culture of the language but some of them do not see neccessity for learning another language. As for the way of learning, nearly all of them see importance of practice but half of them think their children focus on learning grammar and it negatively affects the their speaking skills.
